The Annual Open House has been declared a winner!! Given the heat, the College World Series, Papillion Days and everything else going on in the area, the Open House was a huge success. It was well attended and those that attended got some great deals! We sold out of the Heritage revolvers, which were a steal for $150 and included ammo! Memberships were a popular item and deeply discounted for the day. Father's Day gift certificates were also a hit! Lots of folks come just for the free Stoysich hotdogs and buns donated by Rotellas. A big thank you goes out to both for their generous donation! Thanks also to the Swap Meet participants who braved the heat and lack of shade! They are a hardy bunch!
Mike Anderson won the Smith & Wesson Shield, Walter Shatley (a four time winner!) won the Mossberg .22 rifle, Robert Lzapla went home with a Bull-X Gun Rest and Anthony Locke won The Bullet Hole termal cooler bag! Cindy Appel had the winning guess in the brass-in-the-head game. The actual number was 556 and she guessed 512 to be the closest without going over! Congratulations to all!!
Just as a follow-up to the AMERICAN MARKSMAN competition, several of the shooters who qualified at The Bullet Hole are still in the competition and made it to the regionals! The Midwest Regionals are scheduled to be shot in Grand Island in August. We continue to support and cheer on those who qualified here. It is our hope that the overall $50,000 winner is from the Omaha area!
It's not too early to get your rifle sighted in and ready to go! It is always better to sight-in using the ammo you plan to use hunting. Both soft tip, including ballistic tip, and hollow point ammo can be used on the rifle range.
You are always welcome to bring your own guns and shoot your own ammo at The Bullet Hole. Just remember, if you want to rent a gun, you must provide us with proof of a background check. A Military I.D., a Permit to Purchase and/or a CCW Permit provide that proof. If you don't have any of those currently, the cheapest and fastest way to get a background check is to get your Permit to Purchase. Although, it's a State card, it is issued by the County in which you reside. It is $5, good for three years and does not commit you to buying a gun. If you are renting a gun, for liability purposes, you must purchase our ammo for any caliber larger than a .22.
Classes are posted just to the right. Introduction to Pistols and the CCW class are offered, at a minimum, monthly. You may register over the phone for all but the CCW class. When registering for the CCW class there is a short questionnaire you will be asked to fill out. Don't let your CCW Permit expire. If you do, you have to retake the class!
We are open seven days a week for your convenience. Summer Hours commence Memorial Day to Labor Day. During that time The Bullet Hole is open 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. every day.
